HERE IS WHAT THE BACK COVER SAYS
From the authors of Leading to the One, Bob Borcherdt and Nicki McLeod return with a high-impact guide to one of the most overlooked problems in modern leadership: unused human capacity.
IN UNUSED HUMAN CAPACITY
Why Less Than 10% of Your Best People Are Operating Near Their Capacity and How to Change It, they uncover a silent crisis hidden beneath KPIs, engagement programs, and culture initiatives. The real issue runs deeper—and costs more. Your most capable people are not functioning anywhere near their full potential.
By some estimates, this hidden drain is costing organizations between $25,000 and $35,000 per employee per year.
This book identifies the problem, traces its root causes, and introduces a replicable framework to solve it. Without burnout, micromanagement, or vague culture shifts, Borcherdt and McLeod show leaders how to find where capacity is blocked and how to release it.
If you’ve ever sensed your team could achieve more—not through pressure, but through clarity and alignment—this is the roadmap you’ve been looking for.

THE AUTHOR’S BIO
BOB BORCHERDTÂ
A visionary through and through. His deep passion for people and leadership led him to start IN2GREAT, a leadership consulting firm, in 2011 (www.in2great.com). Though he has served in various leadership roles and bought and sold other businesses, starting his own business (from scratch) is one of the hardest things he has ever done.
Bob started IN2GREAT with one focus: “To inspire and equip people to be everything God created them to be.” Since 2011, the firm has grown and now includes a team of people that share the same vision.
He is the co-author of the book Leading to the One: Creating Cultures of Clarity Where People Are Engaged, Developed, and Fulfilled and the creator of the Clarity Based LeadershipTM System. Clients know him as a trusted advisor who brings clarity to leaders at all levels. He has worked with CEOs of large companies to head coaches of professional sports teams to small business owners and first shift supervisors in manufacturing. It has been said of him that he is a “leader of leaders and carries a message of hope.”
No matter the industry or the level of leadership, helping leaders understand their people at a deeper level, through the use of data and analytics, has been key in helping them unlock their leadership potential and access the Unused Human Capacity in their people.
Bob has been married to his wife Judy for 40 years, and together they have four sons, four daughters-in-law, and fourteen grandchildren.
